Accessibility Statement
Our commitment to a website everyone can use.
Albion Dental Care is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards so that all of our patients — including those who use assistive technologies — can find information about our services, reach our offices, and complete patient forms.
Conformance status
This website is designed to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. WCAG 2.1 AA aligns with the United States Section 508 standard for federal electronic and information technology, which many medical practices voluntarily adopt as a benchmark.
We test the site routinely against automated accessibility tools (most recently Google Lighthouse, with all six primary pages scoring 100/100 in the accessibility category as of May 17, 2026). Automated testing covers most structural issues; we supplement with manual review of keyboard navigation, color contrast, and screen-reader announcements.
What we have done
Recent improvements to this site include:
- Keyboard navigation — every interactive element (links, buttons, form fields) is reachable and operable using only the keyboard, with a clearly visible focus indicator.
- Skip to main content link — lets keyboard and screen-reader users bypass repeated navigation on every page.
- Semantic structure — proper heading hierarchy (h1 → h2 → h3), landmark regions (header, navigation, main, footer), and meaningful link text.
- Form labels — every input on the contact form has an associated label; required fields are programmatically marked.
- Color contrast — text and interactive elements meet the WCAG AA contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 against their background.
- Decorative graphics hidden from screen readers — service icons and stat glyphs are marked so assistive technologies announce only the surrounding text.
- Alt text on informative images — the practice logo, the doctor's photo, professional credential badges, and embedded location maps all carry descriptive labels.
- Reduced-motion support — users who set a preference for reduced motion (in their operating system or browser) automatically see less animation.
Compatibility with browsers and assistive technology
This website is designed to be compatible with the following combinations:
- Recent versions of Safari, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge on desktop and mobile.
- VoiceOver screen reader on macOS and iOS.
- NVDA and JAWS screen readers on Windows.
- TalkBack screen reader on Android.
- Standard browser keyboard navigation (Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, Space, Escape, arrow keys).
- Browser-level zoom up to 200% without loss of content or function.
This website is not designed for Internet Explorer or for browser versions more than three years old. If you are unable to use a modern browser, please call our offices and we will assist you directly.
Known limitations
Despite our best efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. We are aware of and actively working on the following:
- Patient forms (PDF) — the downloadable patient forms on our Patient Forms page are not yet fully tagged for screen-reader compatibility. We are in the process of remediating them and will offer fully accessible alternatives. If you need to complete these forms and use an assistive technology, please call us — our staff will be glad to read them aloud, take your information by phone, or arrange a quiet space in our office to fill them in.
- Third-party embedded content — our Locations page embeds maps from Google Maps. While the maps include accessible titles, the interactive map controls are provided by Google and may not fully meet our accessibility goals. We provide the street address, written directions, and phone number alongside each map so this information is reachable without using the map widget.
Need information in another format?
If any content on this website is not accessible to you, or if you would like to receive information about our practice in a different format — such as large print, audio, or to have a staff member walk you through the information by phone — please contact us. We are glad to help.
Feedback
Your feedback helps us improve. If you encounter any accessibility barriers on this website, please let us know:
You can also use our contact form — in your message, please describe the page you were on, what you were trying to do, and the difficulty you experienced. We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within two business days.
